No accounts, no profiles

Davix does not require or support account creation. We do not collect names, email addresses, or any identity information as part of using the downloader.

What we process temporarily

When you paste a URL, we send it to the matching platform to retrieve its title, thumbnail, duration, and available formats. When you start a download, the chosen media is retrieved into a temporary, isolated location on our server, streamed to your browser, and deleted immediately after — typically within seconds, and never longer than our configured retention window.

Anonymous rate limiting

To keep the service usable for everyone, we enforce a daily download limit. Rather than storing your IP address, we derive a one-way salted hash of your connection identity and the current date, and count against that hash in a fast in-memory store. That hash is not reversible and rotates every day — it cannot be used to build a history of your activity, and no raw IP address is retained.

Third-party sources

Analyzing or downloading a link necessarily involves a request to the source platform (e.g. YouTube, Instagram). That platform's own privacy practices apply to that request independently of Davix.
